Three frames from an early-morning 2019 drone flight over Hadrian’s Wall, the moment the Sycamore Gap tree comes into view. Scan the code to watch the flight.

Early one morning in September 2019 we flew a drone along the cliffs of Hadrian’s Wall, rising over the cliff edge until the Sycamore Gap tree came into view in the gap below.

This T-shirt captures that flight in three frames: the cliff face, the first glimpse of the tree, and the full view of the tree in the gap. A fine dotted flight line runs down the side, and the QR code beneath the title takes you straight to the original film.

The tree was lost in 2023. This design is a quiet record of how it stood: a view that can’t be filmed again.
